Nusa Dua is an exclusive resort area built on two small "islands"; each connected to the mainland of the Bukit peninsula by a narrow, sandy strip of land. The area boasts a selection of world-class, self-contained, secluded holiday resorts - all with ample grounds, gardens, recreational choices and dining facilities. A challenging 18-hole golf course and quiet stretches of beach are also on your doorstep at Nusa Dua. While the resort area offers a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the hubbub of Kuta and Legian are only half an hour away by taxi. Also easily accessible (within 10 to 20 minutes) are some of the best diving locations in Bali. For those who like to shop, a free shuttle service operates between each of the hotels at Nusa Dua and the nearby shopping complex.Further south on the Bukit Peninsula, the stunning beaches give way to dramatic limestone cliffs. The thousand-year water temple (Pura Luhur) of Uluwatu is one of Bali's six Temples of the World. Perched high on a ledge of rock extending some 200 meters above sea level, the temple offers panoramic views across the Indian Ocean to the island of Java, and a world-class surfing venue below. |
